I served in the army in vietnam as a pilot, separated as wo3. Attended Rutgers, Camden, BA. Spent most of working career as pilot, manufacturing manager, and small business owner. Raised cattle on my farm up until my retirement in 2014. I often think about CHS and all the friends that were made back then!

Would you please be so kind as to add my name to your list of veterans from CHS. I served in the USMC from 1966 to 1969, during that time I was an aide to a Vice Admiral who was Commander Second Fleet which was all the ships in the Mediterranean. I was home ported in Villfrance which was on the French Riviera between Nice and Monte Carlo. Traveled extensively throughout Europe with two different Vice Admirals.

Please enter in the Veteran section. After 1 year at Drexel I left for Army Aviation, served as a helicopter mechanic and crew chief in Vietnam (600 flight hours in UH-1C & AH-1G attack helos); multiple combat awards. I returned to Drexel to continue my wrestling career and mechanic engineering (also wrestled for the Army after Vietnam). After graduation I worked 30 years for Naval Aviation; multiple overseas trips for Foreign Military Sales. In 1999 I became a loaned executive to Congress to run a NFP facilitating partnerships among R&D academia, industry, gov't labs and professional associations. We're very active with Education/Workforce, Veterans and Defense. In 1982 Karen McHugh (also Class of 66) and I were married.

AFTER GRAD IN 1956, I ENLISTED USAF IN OCTOBER. I WAS ASSIGNED INTO USAFSS AND LOST CONTACT WITH ALL MY CLASSMATES ! I HAD CLOSE FRIENDS IN CLASSES 1955. 1956 AND 1957. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT CHARLES "CHUCK" REED '55, JACK "FLASH" BOWMAN '55, CAROL THANNER '56, THE HEMSWORTH TWINS '56, BILL MOUNCE '56, JIM LORRIMER '56, BILL TUCKER '56, BARRY OEHLINGER '56, BILL HARRIS '57, RONALD FAYER '57, ROBERT KITCHIN '57, AND ANYONE WHO MAY KNOW THEM ! I WAS A MEMBER OF COLLS HIGH's FIRST CAMERA CLUB SUPERVISED BY BEN MARKS. THE REASON THAT I LOST CONTACT WITH SO MANY WAS THAT IN USAFSS WE WERE ASSIGNED DUTIES THAT WERE KINDA "CLASSIFIED" AND DIDN'T HAVE A LOT OF CONTACT BACK HOME TO COLLINGSWOOD FOR QUITE A WHILE. AFTER MILITARY SERVICE I DID SOME WORK WITH NASA AND NOW >>> I AM RETIRED IN TEXAS ABOUT 40 MILES NORTH OF HOUSTON. THANKING YALL FOR ANY HELP IN LOCATING THOSE THAT I HAVE LISTED ABOVE.... Bob Huff in Texas of "OUR" U S A....

Name: Robert D. Young From: Collingswood Colls Class of: 1965 E-mail: rbt.yng@gmail.com |
Please accept my request to be added to Colls HOF veterans list. USAF Pilot from 1970-1978 discharged with rank of Captain. Flew about 200 sorties in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia as part of C-130 Tactical Airlift crew. Later flew in KC-135 Air Refueling Squadron at Pease AFB, NH with over 2000 total hours of flying time. Inducted into Colls HOF 2012. Although not related to Steve, I strongly support the Steve Young fund. Steve graduated two years before me, and lived a few houses away on the same street as my family home.
